Earring repair in Chembur
We re-thread stripped screws, replace bent posts and restore missing jhumka pearls. Most repairs are ready the same day.

The screw is often the problem
Indian earrings run on two screw systems. Both wear out.
We repair and stock both systems, and can convert an earring when a different fastening fits better.
Also routine: push-backs converted to screw-backs, and lost butterfly backs replaced on the spot, whoever sold the earrings.
Hard to describe? Just photograph it
"The screw thing is loose" is easier shown than said. Send front and back photos and we name the problem and the price range.
Whatever kind of earring it is
Each type breaks its own way, and has its own fix.
Tops and studs
We replace bent posts, tighten loose stones and re-thread worn screws.
Jhumkas
Dented domes eased out from inside, missing pearls re-hung to match, tired hooks replaced.
Balis and hoops
We repair hinge pins, reshape oval hoops and replace worn catches.
Danglers and chandbalis
Broken links restored so the piece moves as designed. Stones re-set in their settings.
Heavy earrings
A sahara chain over the ear takes the weight off your lobe. Fitted to earrings from anywhere.
Lost one of a pair
Our karigar can use the remaining earring as the model for a custom match. We quote after inspecting it.
For ears that have carried too much
Heavy jhumkas stretch piercings and tire lobes. We cannot repair ears, but we can make earrings kinder: sahara chains, broader South-style backs, and the plastic support buttons that quietly do the most. A pair of those is free, for anyone. Healed and ready to wear again? Our ear piercing service uses a sealed single-use cartridge.
Full set needing work? The necklace page covers that side, and the repair bench covers everything.

Bring the pair. Small parts, magnified work.
Both earrings, inspected

Price before work
We inspect both earrings and quote before starting the work.
The fiddly work
Re-threading and re-setting under magnification, with watchmaker's tools.
Matched and checked
We compare it with its partner for drop, angle and finish. The repair has a 90-day warranty.
Questions people ask about earrings
Screws, posts, backs and missing stones.
The screw of my earring does not tighten any more. Can it be fixed?
Yes. We can re-cut the thread or replace the post, then match a back from our counter stock. Bring both earrings so the pair grips the same way.
What is the difference between a Bombay screw and a South screw?
Bombay: threaded post, small nut winds on behind. South, or Madras: thicker post winds into a solid disc that also balances heavy earrings. We repair, stock and convert both.
Can you convert push-back earrings to screw-back?
Yes. We replace the post with a threaded one and match a screw-back. We can also convert a screw-back to a push-back after inspecting the earring.
I lost one earring. Can you make a matching one?
Usually. The karigar recreates the pair from the survivor. Proper making work, a few weeks, quoted like a small custom order. For antiques we say how close the match can get.
My earring back is lost. Do I need to buy a whole new earring?
No. Backs are matched and replaced on their own, even for earrings bought elsewhere. Often while you wait.
How much does earring repair cost?
The price depends on the fitting and whether the repair needs added gold. We quote before starting.
My earrings are heavy and my ears hurt by evening. What can be done?
A sahara chain can carry some of the weight, while a South-style disc back spreads pressure behind the lobe. We can fit either after checking the earrings.
A stone fell out of my earring. Can it be matched?
Bring the stone if you have it. Re-setting is quick. Lost stones are matched by size and cut, and we are upfront when an exact match is impossible.
Bring both earrings in
Even if only one is broken, the pair tells the whole story. Walk in for a quote on the spot, or send a photo first.
